| Oppenheim Architecture and Saudi developers The Red Sea Development Company have unveiled the design of a new mountain resort nestled in the wadi vistas of western Saudi Arabia. One of the main design approaches was to integrate architecture with nature, so the team integrated all 48 villas and 12 hotel rooms within the mountain range to preserve the rocks' striking forms, all of which are accessible through a hidden valley tucked between the mountains. >>> |

Mangrove trees informed the design of the Shenzhen Airport East Integrated Transport Hub, which architecture firm Grimshaw has won a competition to build at an airport in China. The intermodal transport hub will form part of Shenzhen Bao'an Airport and is hoped to become a landmark and gateway for the wider Greater Bay Area, which is home to nine cities. >>> |
