Opened to the public in September 2012, the Museo Del Mundo Maya in Yucatan, Mexico has been recognised by the Premio Iberoamericano CIDI in the Culture category.

There are four permanent galleries with a series of temporary exhibition spaces, botanical gardens, a high definition film screening room, child care facilities, a cafe, gift shop and parking spaces. The exterior of the building is visually arresting showing similarities to Herzog & de Meuron and Ai Weiwei’s Bird’s Nest Stadium in Beijing with an abstract metal framework weaving its way across the facade. >>>

The concept is based on the generation of the space in an exponential view trough the union of basic elements.
