Reid Brewin Architects have been working on the development of this suburban Data Centre site since 2011. In 2014 the practice was approached to design and deliver a new purpose built extension, providing an additional 5,000m² of data hall space on the existing site which was complete in 2019.
The concrete framed construction is divided in two by a central circulation core. A key design element of the adjoining building was a copper band crowning the top of the circular tower. This architectural approach has been extended to the entire north façade of the new extension. A fully glazed link bridge connects the two buildings, providing daylight to the central corridors.
A new smaller extension to provide additional technical rooms started onsite early 2020. All works on site, including completion of the external areas are due to finish in mid-2021.
