Building a house is more than walls, windows and doors. It’s a home, it’s a place of comfort and peace.
The Vision
To design a low cost and environmentally friendly home and to help improve the social, economic, environmental and health outcomes of low income families and individuals living in the City of Ekurhuleni Municipality.
The Design
The design was cost-effective and focused on saved energy consumption. Concrete exterior walls served as heat shields, delaying heat energy from penetrating into the homes during hot weather conditions. OCD was environmentally conscious in terms of design including the use of solar panels in the design.
