These 54 and 44 story towers were inspired by the desire of the client to develop a design for the site that was both modern and classic in its aesthetic. Borrowing from the language of the classic New York skyscraper, a number of options were developed all of which provide simple, orthogonal, cost-effective and efficient plans while allowing for a variety of podium and tower variations. The structural shear walls are externally expressed giving the scheme a strong vertical composition while at the same time maximizing the affective structural width of the building thus increasing structural efficiency and reducing the cost of construction.
