The President of Argentina, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, announced on Sept. 10 the awarding of a contract to build the 335-meter “Polo Audiovisual,” which would become the tallest building in Latin America, exceeding the current title-holder, Torre Costanera, Santiago, Chile, by 35 meters.

After a two year-tender, the project was finally assigned to Riva S.a. Construcciones. The construction will begin this November and is expected to be finished within five years.
