Danish architects 3XN Arkitekter's Orestad College design has been shortlisted for the coveted Mies van der Rohe Award 2009. The 12,000 sq ft design integrates revolutionary classroom-free design with wireless internet and laptops for all students to create a “Virtual Gymnasium”. Rotating ‘shutters’ forming the four levels of the college create a flexible space to be adjusted to different group sizes and needs.
