Muriwai Surfclub (Video clip)
University Second Year Architecture Design Assignment. Brief: Design a surfclub to replace the old at Muriwai Beach.
Info: In a group of 14 we were given the typology 'umbrella' and asked to design a surfclub. Our design is based on the flight of the gannet, a native bird popular at the site. The building shows a transition from grounded to flying with the use of materials and spaces. The roof also portrays this idea of flight as well as the waves on the beach and protection/safety of the lifeguards. This is a video I made for our group showing a walk from the beach towards and through the surfclub.
