The Sax is a major residential complex in Rotterdam's Wilhelminapier district, designed by MVRDV in partnership with BPD and Synchroon, featuring two connected towers that will house 916 apartments to promote urban density. The project overview includes the start of construction with completion targeted for 2030, finalizing the southern side of Wilhelminapier and making it the most densely populated area in the Netherlands. The design draws inspiration from the saxophone, evident in its undulating form with a silvery facade and balconies that create dynamic visual effects under changing light, while the towers—Havana at 180 meters and Philadelphia at 82 meters—are linked by a golden beam containing six floors of apartments and a shared terrace at 100 meters.
