French firm Bechu & Associés, together with collaborators, has secured the win for the master plan of Hunnu City, a major new satellite development south of Ulaanbaatar near the international airport. Covering over 31,000 hectares, the phased project from 2025 to 2045 aims to relieve pressure on the capital, boost economic variety, and build climate resilience in line with Mongolia's long-term Vision 2050 goals. Inspired by the steppe landscape, traditional ger shapes, and natural elements like wind and water, it organizes the city into flexible interconnected zones.
