Sydney is set to receive a new public library designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma as part of the $3.4 billion Darling Harbour redevelopment. The City of Sydney has reached an agreement with developer Lendlease to occupy two floors of the six-storey building, totaling 2,225 square metres, for the new library, which will replace the existing Haymarket Library that is only one quarter the size of the new space.
