Salon Alper Derinbogaz's 38,000 m² Museum of Istanbul sits beside the historic Theodosian Walls. To preserve archaeology, the building reuses an existing foundation and floats above ground on a bridge. Its fractured stone-like facade reflects the city's layered history. Public spaces, library, and café occupy the transparent ground floor; storage and labs are below grade. A rooftop terrace and open-air theater offer sea views.
