The Blessed Father Jerzy Popiełuszko Museum in Okopy, designed by Nizio Design International, serves as a poignant memorial to the martyred Polish priest known for his anti-communist stance. Drawing from regional rural architecture, the building uses concrete, stone, and subtle forms to integrate with the natural landscape of fields and forests. A central chapel-like space features a cross-shaped light opening that illuminates the interior symbolically. A concrete wall with cascading water evokes the site of his death and themes of purification. Construction is underway, aiming for completion in 2027 to preserve his legacy through architecture of memory.
