The Los Angeles City Council has approved the BIG-designed 670 Mesquit project. The scheme comprises four buildings on a site spanning 6th and 7th Street. Almost 900 residential units will be included in the scheme, as well as a 271-room hotel, 676,000 square feet of offices, an elementary school, and commercial units. The tallest building in the development will reach 34 stories. First unveiled in 2016, the scheme is set to be another major addition to LA's Arts District. The complex will sit just south of the recently-completed Sixth Street Viaduct and its upcoming park space.
