No remorse? (Video clip)

This is JR (Japan Railways) answer to the problem of building a new railway station in what is arguably one of Japans most important tourist spot and frequented area of outstanding natural beauty - Arashiyama.

Gone is the old single-storey wooden building and in it's place, this. A building which even though presently incomplete already has enormous negative impact on the surrounding built and natural environment. Sadly, for Japan, this is not a new or unusual facet of the architectural 'profession', but it is a concerning trend that needs monitoring and addressing.
