Indonesian Embassy by gmp, Berlin, Germany

Located directly adjacent to the Japanese embassy, the new building on Tiergartenstrasse adds an additional component to Berlin's embassy district. All the embassy functions are arranged around a central atrium, including ambassador and employee offices, the visa department, conference rooms, a cafeteria, and apartments. The shape of the facade with its external sun protection evokes ocean waves and the traditional Indonesian sailing ship, both of which identify the island nation. Completion is scheduled for 2024.
