OCD prides itself on creative and innovative designs for each client brief which culminates in exquisite green and sustainable solutions.
This luxurious 7-bedroom house comes with 2 pools, the pool on the first-floor overflows into the pool on the ground floor, creating a waterfall effect which creates not only a cooling effect but also a calming environment as both pools are open to a 3-level entertainment hub which consists of gardens, pools and view on balconies.
There are 3 levels in this home, the first is the basement which houses a 10-car garage and a wine cellar.
From the basement, one can use the glass elevator which elevates to a spacious double volume entrance which opens up to a beautiful gold and marble double staircase on the ground floor.
The ground floor houses 2-lounges, the first, being a formal lounge with glass walls for transparency, views and light, and a family lounge which opens into the entertainment hub with the first pool. A kitchen with marble counters, breakfast nook, extractor fans, ovens, (both under and above counter), a scullery and an attached 2-bedroom 1-bathroom staff quarters. A bar with access via a glass floor to the basement cellar. An open plan dining room with marble floors and direct access to the entertainment hub, separated from the family lounge via a gas, glass fire place. It incorporates Passive solar design principles, consists of double cavity low etempered glass in all windows and glass doors, double cavity insulated walls, an east-west orientation for maximum use of the north lights as well as solar panels on the roof, to reduce dependency on the power grid, these interventions dramatically reduce the heating and cooling costs of the building, and improves the occupants’ health and productivity. The house will incorporate energy-efficient lighting, low energy appliances, and renewable energy technologies.
Project Location is in Gauteng South Africa , on completion it is estimated that the construction value will be approximately R 20 Million and the estimated project time frame is 2 years.
