King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, Hamilton, Bermuda |
|
Swanke Hayden Connell Architects led the design team for Paget Health Services who have been named Bermuda Hospitals Board's private partner and are currently building a new £150m facility on the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital campus in Bermuda. The new hospital facility has been designed to enhance both the patient and staff experience and is designed to form the ‘new front door' to the whole of the healthcare campus, linking the new and existing hospital and anticipating replacement of all existing buildings in phases. The building is designed with a clear circulation system organised around a central atrium and integrates the surrounding sub-topical landscape. Functionally the new building comprises 90 single patient bedrooms, emergency department, diagnostic imaging, day case surgery, chronic disease management (asthma, diabetes, pain management), renal dialysis and oncology. |
