Knut Hamsun Center (Video clip)
The Knut Hamsun Center is a museum and educational center in Hamaroy, Norway. The center is dedicated to the writer Knut Hamsun.
The first design of the centre was presented by architect Steven Holl in 1996. He wanted the center to be built at Hamsund, but local authorities moved it to Presteid. The building process was delayed due to a longtime struggle with local red tape, and Morgenbladet has referred to it as "Norway's most discussed non-existing building". The center finally opened on 4 August 2009, the 150th anniversary of Knut Hamsun's birth.
